Yesterday, Red Oak Grove was all a flutter of activity, strawberries, and welcoming. This church community has been hosting this annual festival for 71 years – what a tradition!
As the new pastor, this was my first experience of this annual festival and it was wonderful. The community of Red Oak Grove came together to prep, set up, and serve the hundreds of people who came for a supper of barbecues, potato salad, and various strawberry desserts. There was also a bake sale, a quilt raffle, and people of all generations greeting and serving.
If you came, we hope you enjoyed yourself! And if you didn’t, maybe you’ll join us next June for the 72nd annual Strawberry Festival!
